Hautbois and the Night Visitors

The oboists in the pit are sucking cane. The Magi,

shattering the footlights with rubies and topaz,

have already marched to the hut of the impoverished

widow with the crippled son. Amahl, not yet cured,

flings himself on his crutch towards the star…
