Dancing with Shadows:  Eleven Chicagoland Poets Share Their Words

Carl Sandburg once said, “Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance.”  Join us as area poets from Poets and Patrons read their “dancing shadows.”  From poems about fertility, dreams, cats and bunions, to Chicago poems that highlight Lake Michigan and the city’s art, you will be sure to come away with some thought provoking echoes of your own, or perhaps just a smile. The Printer’s Row Litfest takes place this Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, 2015, in Chicago’s Loop, on Dearborn and Polk Streets. Poets and Patrons of Chicago is sponsoring a reading of 11 poets from 4:15-6pm at the Arts and Poetry Stage, corner of Dearborn and Clark.

Poets represented will be Donna Pucciani, Bakul Banerjee, Wilda Morris, Tom Roby, Jenene Ravesloot, Maureen Tolman Flannery, Itala Langmar, James Merriner, Charlotte DiGregorio, Caroline Johnson, and James Reiss.

ISPS will also be sharing a table with Poets and Patrons at the Lit Fest both days to distribute literature about both organizations.  Our table is located on Polk Street, just west of the Arts and Poetry Stage, and west of Dearborn.  Stop by to say hello!
