Waterline Writers, Batavia, Illinois May 21, 2017

FYI–an excellent lineup of five writers last Sunday night, of which I was honored to be a part. Great crowd, wine, craft beer and delicious snacks from local artisans, and fascinating costume exhibit in an elegant space. I was happy to read from my seventh and most recent book, EDGES (Purple Flag Press, Chicago 2016).

For those who missed the reading, all videos are posted on waterlinewriters.ort/video. I am second on the program with poems on special people, living and dead, who influenced my life. Thanks to AnneVeague and Kevin Moriarty for again providing a wonderful venue for artists of all stripes. Definitely a class act!

The 3rd Sunday night readings will resume after a much-deserved summer vacay for the staff and many volunteers who make these events such a success. Be sure to “friend” Waterline Writers on fb and social media to receive postings of future happenings.

Pucciani&Woods Collaborate in Boston Show

Atlantic Works Gallery is pleased to present DOPPELGANGER, a group show that explores parallels and connections between the work of gallery artists and their invited guests.

Each Atlantic Works artist has paired with a writer to create interesting and original pairings on the theme of “doppelganger.” Approximately twenty pairs of artists and writers will be featured in the exhibit. X Bonnie Woods invited Chicago poet Donna Pucciani to team up with her in an effort to explore the theme, echoing their ongoing long-distance collaboration featured on, a shared website which posts matching photography by Woods and poetry by Pucciani.

The show runs from July 16 through August 20th, 2015 at the Aantic Works Gallery, 80 Border St., East Boston, Massachusetts. The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 6-9 pm. The closing reception and artist talks will take place on Thursday, August 20, 6-9 pm. Gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays, 2-6 pm. All are invited to share this thought-provoking exhibit.

Pucciani Reads at Printer’s Row Litfest

Dancing with Shadows:  Eleven Chicagoland Poets Share Their Words

Carl Sandburg once said, “Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance.”  Join us as area poets from Poets and Patrons read their “dancing shadows.”  From poems about fertility, dreams, cats and bunions, to Chicago poems that highlight Lake Michigan and the city’s art, you will be sure to come away with some thought provoking echoes of your own, or perhaps just a smile. The Printer’s Row Litfest takes place this Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, 2015, in Chicago’s Loop, on Dearborn and Polk Streets. Poets and Patrons of Chicago is sponsoring a reading of 11 poets from 4:15-6pm at the Arts and Poetry Stage, corner of Dearborn and Clark.

Poets represented will be Donna Pucciani, Bakul Banerjee, Wilda Morris, Tom Roby, Jenene Ravesloot, Maureen Tolman Flannery, Itala Langmar, James Merriner, Charlotte DiGregorio, Caroline Johnson, and James Reiss.

ISPS will also be sharing a table with Poets and Patrons at the Lit Fest both days to distribute literature about both organizations.  Our table is located on Polk Street, just west of the Arts and Poetry Stage, and west of Dearborn.  Stop by to say hello!
