Atlantic Works Gallery is pleased to present DOPPELGANGER, a group show that explores parallels and connections between the work of gallery artists and their invited guests.
Each Atlantic Works artist has paired with a writer to create interesting and original pairings on the theme of “doppelganger.” Approximately twenty pairs of artists and writers will be featured in the exhibit. X Bonnie Woods invited Chicago poet Donna Pucciani to team up with her in an effort to explore the theme, echoing their ongoing long-distance collaboration featured on shutterverse2.wordpress.com, a shared website which posts matching photography by Woods and poetry by Pucciani.
The show runs from July 16 through August 20th, 2015 at the Aantic Works Gallery, 80 Border St., East Boston, Massachusetts. The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 6-9 pm. The closing reception and artist talks will take place on Thursday, August 20, 6-9 pm. Gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays, 2-6 pm. All are invited to share this thought-provoking exhibit.
Piece by piece
we will leave this spinning planet,
exit when we least expect it,
when gravity is napping
and death is paying attention.
Unfair . . .

Pucciani’s poem is featured in her latest book, Hanging Like Hope on the Equinox (virtual artists collective, Chicago 2013). Atlantic Works Gallery hours are as follows: Reception Thursday, August 15, 6-9 pm; Fridays and Saturdays 2-6 pm. All are welcome!
Donna Pucciani’s poem, “String of Pearls,” is featured in a recent show at the Atlantic Works Gallery, 808 Border St., East Boston, Massachusetts, from January 11 through 26, 2013. The exhibit called for local artists to select a piece of music and use it as inspiration for their art. Chelsea-based painter and photographer X Woods chose the Glenn Miller classic, “String of Pearls,” and requested collaboration with poet Pucciani for a multi-level reflection of artistic ideas. Atlantic Works Gallery comments: “These pieces raise the question, how can ideas raised by one art form find resolution in another? The exchange is lively and fun and it shows how profoundly art and artists reflect our time and our culture.” Atlantic Works Gallery is open Friday and Saturday 2-6 pm.
