Prizewinning Poet

Donna Pucciani is happy to announce a number of awards from the National Federation of State Poetry Society’s 2018 contest, including the following:

Winners’ Circle Award, Second Place; League of Minnesota Poets, Third Place; Poets Round Table of Arkansas Award, Second Place; Louisiana State Poetry Society Award, First Place; Al Laster Memorial Award, First Honorable Mention; WyoPoets Award, Second Honorable Mention; and Donald Stoghill Memorial Award, 5th Honorable Mention.

Some of the poems will appear in the NFSPS Anthology of prizewinning poems, ENCORE, in 2018, available on Amazon and your local independent bookstore.

 

Prizewinning Poems

Donna Pucciani has won two First Place awards in the National Federation of State Poetry Societies 2015 contest: The New York Poetry Forum Award and The Poets Roundtable of Arkansas Award.

Pucciani Wins Climate Change Contest

Sunday, March 15th at 7 PM: As part of the Water Street Studios Climate Crisis exhibit and event series, Waterline Writers will feature climate poetry contest winner Donna Pucciani and honorable mentions Tricia Marcella Cimera, Jim Lewis, Lucinda Marshall and Barbara Ungar, with Luis Mejico performing an interdisciplinary piece based on the poems. Essays and fiction from Donald J. Bingle, Joe Pisciotto of Three Plaid Farmers, and Ray Ziemer will offer perspectives and solutions to past, present, and future climate issues. A 5-minute-limit Open Mic begins at 8:30 PM. Donna Pucciani Featured in After Hours

Donna Pucciani is the featured poet in After Hours: A Journal of Chicago Writing and Art, published by Albert de Genova, and edited by de Genova and P. Hertel (Winter 2014, Issue No. 28). Pucciani credits small independent literary journals such as After Hours for keeping poetry alive in today’s challenging artistic climate, and After Hours in particular for giving voice to Chicago area poets and photographers.

Pushcart Nomination

Donna Pucciani’s poem, “Seagulls, Holy Week,” has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize by Cairn: The St. Andrews Review. This is Pucciani’s fourth Pushcart nomination.
